Window film blocking solar heat and UV rays∙∙∙ Provision of products optimized for DIY work at reasonable prices
Configured in such a way that will make it possible for people to carry out the work as shown in the video∙∙∙ promotion of social values development
On May 19, SKC introduced to the market a window film for household called ‘SK Homecare Film DIY,’ which ordinary people can work on themselves. It is an affordable DIY product that’s easy to install.
Window film is used to block solar heat and UV rays. It helps households to save on energy expenses and prevents the colors of furniture and indoor curtains from fading. In the past, window film for household was not very popular because installation needed to be done by professional contractors, adding to the price.
SKC has thought of how to best help consumers do the installation for window films by themselves without needing to be an expert. Acting on this idea, SKC work on a product that adjusted its adhesive power to the right locations through trial and error. The newly introduced films are made thicker so they will not easily be bent or crumpled.
It provides a 1 cm-wide cutting line to the films so that consumers can cut them without any hassle. Basic tools like a plastic scraper and sand paper used to install the films to the window are also provided, along with a video tutorial showing how to carry out the work.
It reduced the channels of distribution, resulting in a considerably lower price for customers. And because the customers can install without needing to hire contractors, they can also save on their expenses.
The films come in two types: 150 cm and 75 cm-wide. Their packing material is made of biodegradable film to emphasize the films’ environmental friendliness. SK Homecare Film DIY is sold at NAVER Shopping.
Commenting on SK Homecare Film DIY, an SKC official said, “The products are a result of our efforts to help ordinary people install films on their windows. These films are made with our know-how accumulated over years.
We intend to develop the social values of energy saving by offering products that easy to install for our customers. We will also engage in social contribution activities using DIY goods like these.”
