SKC conducted various social volunteer activities involving all executives and staff members, including Chairman Chey Shin-won and President Park Jang-suk, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the company’s establishment on October 14.

Notably, volunteer activities meant to preserve cultural properties at Hwaseonghaenggung in Suwon were attended by Chairman Chey and Suwon Major Yeom Tae-young, who worked to replace door papers, adding to the meaning of the event aimed at preserving Hwaseonghaenggung, a world-renowned cultural property in Suwon.

SKC has conducted volunteer activities for preserving cultural properties at Hwaseonghaenggung for three consecutive years. Hence watchers say that the company is engaged in continuous social volunteer activities, rather than one-time events, while making important contributions to the community as a firm _ base_d in Suwon.

Additionally, SKC cleaned tombs and offered flowers at the National Cemetery in Seoul. It also engaged in cleaning of the Taehwagang River, and Mihocheon stream in Ulsan. Staff members at the Suwon Plant visited households with elderly shut-ins around the plant and replaced wall papers and flooring materials to improve their housing environment.

Explaining the significance of the company’s volunteer campaign, SKC President Park Jang-suk said, “It is natural that SKC makes contributions to the local community as a responsible corporate citizen, and we will develop more effective corporate social responsibility programs, and conduct volunteer activities that help grow happiness together with the local community. In an effort to commemorate anniversaries in a more meaningful way, SKC has conducted volunteer activities in lieu of in-house events since 2007.
