- SKC and SK Telesys team up with the Community Chest of Korea’s Gyeonggi Chapter to deliver briquettes and rice to 330 households in the Yeoju area



SKC and SK Telesys jointly volunteered to perform ‘Briquettes Delivery for Happiness Sharing and Love’ activities in Yeoju in collaboration with the Community Chest of Korea’s Gyeonggi Chapter on December 10.

The ‘Happiness Sharing and Love’ campaign, which marks its fourth anniversary this year, contributes to social welfare in Gyeonggi-do by delivering briquettes and rice to underprivileged people in the Yeoju area.

More than fifty people, including SKC Chairman Chey Shin-won and SK Telesys President Kim Jong-sik, as well as staff from the two companies, participated in the campaign, delivering in person basic necessities for the winter season, including 3,300 briquettes and sacks of rice (20 kilograms) to residents in the Yeoju area. They separately donated more than 10,000 briquettes and over 300 sacks of rice, including those they delivered in person, to about 330 needy households in the Yeoju area on the day.

As with last year, staff members of the CCK’s Gyeonggi Chapter also participated in this year’s event, enhancing the significance of volunteerism and sharing.

Chairman Chey said, “We hold this event annually, but whenever I come, I feel a profound need to increase our acts of sharing and our donations after witnessing the difficulties faced by some of our senior citizens,” adding, “I hope that the briquettes and rice we delivered in person today will in some small way help senior citizens to get through the winter more comfortably.”
