SK Bioland Announces New Corporate Identity

● SK Bioland develops into ‘Global BHC materials business’ with ‘SK Happy Wings’

● SK Bioland explores global markets in China, USA, Europe and Middle East while diversifying its cosmetics materials lines


The company formerly known as Bioland (CEO Jeong Chan-bok), a subsidiary of SKC (Lee Wan-jae, CEO), held a ceremony to declare its new corporate identity and its renaming as SK Bioland at its Cheonan home office on July 5th. The launch of SK Bioland was celebrated by the more than 100 persons in attendance at the ceremony, including Jeong Chan-bok, CEO of SK Bioland, Kim Tae-seong, head of SKC’s BHC Division, and officers and employees of the company. The ceremony was held along with a number of special programs, including the presentation of celebratory video messages by the members of various business units of SK Bioland, declaration of the new CI, the transfer of company flags, the wearing of badges and employee certificates, and a choral declaration of the company’s slogans.


SKC Bioland leaps forward into global BHC materials supplier with Happy Wings

In line with its renaming, SK Bioland has added the SK Group insignia ‘Happy Wings’ to its corporate image. The new CI signifies its determination to soar to new heights of business performance in the global BHC materials market by combining ‘Happy Wings,’ which symbolizes its aggressive stance toward the global market and happiness with the existing brand of the former Bioland, which possessed a wealth of experience and technological capability as Korea’s No. 1 leader in the local market for natural cosmetics materials. “SK Bioland will explore global BHC markets, including that of China, utilizing the competencies of SK Group, _ base_d on the business know-how it has accumulated over a period of twenty years,” said Jeong Chan-bok, CEO while expressing his ambition. “We’ll do our best to enhance the Group’s future value.”

Company advances into overseas markets to diversify business into mask packs, medical supplies, and functional health supplement foods in addition to natural cosmetics materials

SK Bioland aims to grow into a ‘global BHC materials business’ by strengthening its business lines while concentrating its capabilities on functional health foods, medical appliances, and natural drugs, including third-generation mask packs, in addition to its cosmetics materials business with high added value. SK Bioland plans to build a large-scale mask pack factory in China to increase its mask pack business, following its recent construction of a bio-cellulose mask pack factory in Ansan, Korea. It has also diversified its product portfolio into BHC materials utilizing Jeju lava seawater and natural indigenous products that are processed at its Jeju factory, whose construction was completed last year. It is currently awaiting approvals from major companies in China, France, and the USA. It is expected the company’s diversification into BHC lines will reap rewards as soon as its medical supplies business - _ base_d on collagen membrane - grows into a global business spanning China, the USA, Europe and the Middle East.


SK Bioland launches new, high value-added products through synergy with SKC Group

After acquiring SK Bioland in 2014, SKC set up the BHC division in order to cooperate closely with the company on the research and development and global marketing of high value added specialty BHC products, including cosmetics materials and medical supplies. SK Bioland plans to grow into a global bio materials giant that steadily launches high value-added new products through synergy with SKC BHC business.
