SKC Participates in Additional Rights Offering for Absolics… Accelerating Glass Substrate Business

● SKC invests a total of KRW 373.1 billion through additional sub_ script_ion, strengthening the foundation of its business operations.

● Accelerating the "two-track" commercialization of _ _ embed__ded and non-_ _ embed__ded products; full-scale customer certification and Proof of Concept (PoC) underway.

SKC has decided to additionally participate in Absolics' rights offering to ensure the stable advancement of its glass substrate business. SKC announced on the 22nd that it will subscribe to an additional KRW 92.1 billion in Absolics' rights offering. With this, SKC's total sub_ script_ion amount expands to approximately KRW 373.1 billion.


This additional sub_ script_ion will be funded by the capital SKC secured through its KRW 1.1671 trillion rights offering in the first half of this year. Having completed its proactive fundraising, SKC previously outlined a blueprint to concentrate approximately KRW 590 billion of these funds into the glass substrate business over the next three years. SKC plans to continue its investments in a phased manner, aligning with future business progress and milestones.


Absolics, which has secured approximately KRW 400 billion in funding through this capital increase, will accelerate its "two-track" strategy to simultaneously commercialize both "_ _ embed__ded" and "non-_ _ embed__ded" products. The _ _ embed__ded products have successfully completed preliminary _ eval_uations of samples produced at the Georgia plant in the U.S. and have now entered the reliability testing phase. The non-_ _ embed__ded products are also currently part of a supplier selection project in the second half of this year, with preparations underway to initiate a Proof of Concept (PoC) before the end of the year.


An SKC official stated, "This additional equity investment is a decision to inject the necessary funds in a timely manner for the successful commercialization of our glass substrate business and to further solidify our operational foundation."
