SKC holds first overseas board meeting in Georgia plant

On April 13, 2007, Chairman Choi Shin-won, four executive directors including CEO Park Jang Suk, four outside directors including Director Park Sang-soo, and eight members of the board of directors attended a board meeting at the polyester film manufacturing plant located in Georgia, U.S..
This is the first time that the company has ever held a board meeting in a foreign country and it was an important meeting where the board reviewed the successful implantation of SKC’s global strategy by inspecting an key overseas plant firsthand. Furthermore, the board discussed the issue of expanding the Georgia plant for another bold expansion.
The executives were briefed on the economics of expanding the Georgia plant by executive director Kim Ho-jin (President of SKC Inc.) and debated the decision on whether to pour more investments into the Georgia plant. They also attended the company party held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Georgia plant where they had face-to-face discussions with the plant employees.
SKC has seven plants around the world along with its Georgia plant. Its plants are scattered around the world in China, Japan, Germany, and Taiwan. The company is also expanding its marketing activities and involved in global outsourcing. The are plans to enter Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia to expand its global presence.
