SKC (Jang-suk Park, CEO) held a completion ceremony of the eco-friendly HPPO factory at Ulsan Complex, on the 27th

Over 220 guests including Shin-won Choi, the chairman of SKC, Jang-suk Park, CEO of SKC, Gwan-ho Son, the vice chairman of SK E&C, and Meng-woo Park, the mayor of Ulsan Metropolitan City took place in the ceremony.

After 2 years of investing 200 billion won, SKC has completed the construction of HPPO plant whose that produces 100 thousand metric tons. It has expanded PO production capacity to yearly 280 thousand metric tons by commercializing the world’s first HPPO method that produces PO(propylene oxide) out of hydrogen peroxide.

CEO, Jang-suk Park in his greetings said, “HPPO method is the state-of-art technology that world-level chemical companies have tried to developed. As SKC has completed the factory applying the method, it has been shown that SKC has the world-class chemical processing technology and operation capability.” He added, “A stepping stone for us both to change PO production method to eco-friendly technology and to be leader in the Asian polyurethane markets is put.”

The world-first HPPO plant completion will lead SKC to increase the production up to 400 thousand metric tons by 2011 and more over advance into Asian market such as in China.
